This last Thursday I knew that it would be a very busy day. For as long as I can remember, everytime a cold front comes to Oklahoma City in the Winter, starting 36 to 48 hours before its arrival the phone rings off the hook. I guess it’s human nature to put off car repairs. But windshield repair is something that shouldn’t be put off.

One repeat customer told me she had gotten her windshield chip just the day before. As we talked she asked if I was normally busy. I replied yes, but that when a cold front was due to arrive it was usually just plain kaos. When I told her about repairs being put off until it got cold she replied, “that’s crazy, when you get a chip it’s not going to go away or get any better, Git-R-Dun”. I couldn’t say it any better.

By putting off repairing your windshield.

  • You risk it cracking out.
  • The older a chip is the more dirt that gets in it. Simply put which gives the greater strength, gluing 2 dirty items together or 2 clean items.
  • By putting off the repair until the last minute you risk not getting the repair done in time. Further you put the repair tech in the position of demanding a good repair under less than ideal conditions.

When the cost could be so great both in money and safety, repairing your windshield in a timely manner offers the best chance for success.
